Thornton windows takes the safety and security of your home very seriously as once invaded it can often never feel the same again. Rehau edge when combined with the recommended locks and furniture has achieved the BS7950. At Thornton Windows we always use the most up to date locks and window furniture on the market and listen very carefully to the advice of both Rehau and our other suppliers. We currently use a Roto TSL espagnolette locking system for all our windows which when combined with our locking handles can give complete peace of mind for all our customers. The Edge system is designed with ample internal chambers which enables the installation of larger steel reinforcements, this not only increases the rigidity and strength of the window but it also means a stronger fixing for the locks and handles.
All the double glazing is fitted with internal beads which means they cannot be removed from the outside to gain access to your property through a glazed area.
We also ensure that all our side opening windows are fitted with Egress hinges so that in the event of a fire our customers know that they are able to escape from any window this combined the Edges Rauferno fire resistant patent once again gives complete peace of mind.

The REHAU Edge window system with its slim outer frame combined with slim mullions and transoms conforms to this pattern and at the same time provides clean modern lines making it extremely versatile to suit most homes. If a more traditional appearance is desired the Edge system allows features to be added to create and authentic period look. The Edge fully sculptured system can replicate traditional joinery features with sculptured sashes and matching sculptured glazing beads. For a more modern contemporary looking window to complement your property the alternative Edge Chamfered suite could be chosen.
The Edge suite also offers low level beads and gaskets, which sit level with the frames and are much less obtrusive than standard options. In fact, they are almost invisible, ensuring a beautiful finish for all windows and as they are all integrated with the profiles this totally eliminates visible black rubber and shrinking gaskets.

As a manufacturer of REHAU Edge we are now able to offer all our customers an extensive choice of window colour, whatever look you want to achieve the Edge system can provide it. All windows are available as standard in modern white, romantic Rosewood, rich Mahogany, Golden Oak, Rustic Chartwell green, or Soft Cream. All our coloured frames are foiled finish and are not painted. There are in total 150 colour options to choose from including stained wood colours using the unique Rehau Acryl II colouring system.
Match your windows to your décor

Although the Edge system means you can enjoy all the energy saving and security benefits that come from being crafted from a durable PVC-U, simple extra features mean you can still achieve an authentic traditional look for your home. Features can be added such as
- Run-through sash horns, these add authentic touch and a consistent colour as they are made from the same material and colour as your chosen frames.
- Clip on Georgian bars known as Astragals offer a quality, period finish.
- Glazing choices of clear, patterned or stained or bevelled glass, we can even encapsulate your original leaded glass into a new double glazed unit thus entirely maintaining the traditional appearance of your property.
