Tilt and Turn PVCu Windows
Tilt and turn windows do exactly what they say, they tilt inwards for ventilation and turn inwards to enable the window to be cleaned or used as a fire exit.
With a tilt and turn window larger window openings can be created than with a casement window this is due to the mechanisms that are fitted to the window. With a casement window two friction stays take all the weight of the glass whereas with a tilt and turn window it has gearing all around the window to help support the glass when the window is opened and it has more conventional type pivot hinges.
More complicated window designs can actually be made to open using this type of mechanism.
It is also possible to have a combination of open out casement window and tilt and turn within the same frame so this widens the design of window available even more.
