Standard Mock Sash Windows

The Benefits

Our standard mock sash window is essentially a top opening casement style window with conventional storm proof casement hinges consistent with this type of window.

What makes it different are the extended stiles on the sash which protrude below the bottom rail of the opener to form the traditional horns that are so often seen on sash windows

The double-glazing units are at least 24mm thick (4/16/4)

The window is draught sealed with a compression seal.

The window is much easier to paint than a sliding sash window.

Timber

The timber we use is usually top quality Hardwood for instance European oak, Mahogany, Idigbo although if you require any other timber species don't hesitate to ask.

Construction Method

The frame is constructed from 70mm x 60mm timber which gives a substantial look. We use a mortice and tenon construction, All our Mock sash windows are pre-beaded with a bevelled bead for ease of painting. Sash horns are standard but can be shaped to your design.

Ironmongery

Our standard ironmongery includes butt hinges and key-locking casement stays. However you can choose which sort of hardware you require for your needs. All screws and nails used in the manufacture are coated for durability.
